Basketball uniform rules are the ultimate “necessary evil” for referees—like enforcing a dress code at a party you weren’t invited to. Somehow, it falls on us to make sure a player’s jersey is tucked in, their undershirt is the right color, and their socks aren’t causing an existential crisis for the rulebook. Meanwhile, someone is out there committing a blatant travel, but no, heaven forbid we let a kid wear the wrong compression sleeves!
