The Quarantine is over
Quarantine felt like three prison phases. I named the first phase “iso” for isolation. We had to stay in a hotel room off the main IMG Academy campus. When you arrived you where isolated to your room for four nights. During those four nights you could only leave for COVID19 testing. If you left your room you would have to restart the quarantine process. After day two, I had no desire to sit in this room another day.
The second phase we where transported to the Legacy hotel on the IMG Campus and the testing continued. The good thing about being in this location was we could atleast say hello to your fellow colleagues and officials in the hallway as we traveled to testing.
I called this the personal cell or the “Big Cell”. You stayed there for three nights. I had a room that faced the pool, so everyday I was totured with seeing people playing in the pool.
The worst day of quarantine was the day you receive the email that said I have successfully completed the COVID19 testing requirements. This meant that I have thirteen hours remaining before I could leave my hotel room to join the general population or “Gen Pop.”
That evening, my sleep pattern was horrible. I struggled to stay asleep. 8am was that hour that I could enter phase three. Thirteen hours felt like an eternity.
At 7:55 am I was standing by the door dressed, mask on ready to enter Gen Pop.
I cant wait to touch the outside air.
